More Bday pics.

I really packed in a lot the past couple weeks (almost too much) for my 30th Bday celebrations.  It just happened to work out like that.  Here are the pictures off my camera though.
Being with my sister was super special!

Even if her friends were a little extreme for me ;) haha
This sweet guy (Wes) brought the cake and even wrapped a present (batman tshirt!) for me.  Super kind.

On my last day there we drove in torrential downpour over an hour to spend the entire day/night at Universal studios to explore all of the Harry Potter world.  It was amazing!  Being the book nerds that we are (love that we share that together) there may have been a few tears shed in excitement.
The backdoor entrance to the Ministry of Magic.

This is what you see when you round the corner into Diagon Alley.  Amazing!
First stop was to purchase our wands.  They had walls and walls of them.  You could select your wand based on your birthday (which we didn't love the selection) or based on actual characters from the books.  Nikki picked Hermonie which was perfect.  I picked Professor Snape's wand.  A simple black one with carving on the handle.  He was one of, if not, my favorite character in the series.
We visited the owl shop.  I didn't find on that I loved.
We got fitted for our school robes.

We checked the map as we went b/c there were special spots where our wands could produce magic.  We made fountains turn on, flowers grow, eyeballs open, toilets flush, just to name a few.

Then we caught the Hogwarts Express from Diagon Alley over to Hogsmead/Hogwarts school.  The ride is interactive and make you feel like you are riding through the read countryside while book characters surround you.  Again...amazing!
We stopped for the famous butterbeer which was terribly sweet so we shared one frozen one.
This entire castle/Hogwarts school is a 4-D ride.  It made you feel like you were flying and getting chased by dementors and giant spiders.  Awesome.  We rode it 2xs.

Then we headed back to Diagon Alley to finish shopping.
I got a 9 3/4 shirt (which no one will understand unless they read the books.)

We stayed for a movie/light show until they closed the park.
 Best birthday trip ever!

We are half way through our 1st week back and it’s been a whirlwind of facts, checklists, narration, a few tears, good books, chores, bible ...
