Arthropod Unit

The kid's science unit this semester was on arthropods.  Each kid had to choose a bug and research it and create a presentation for the family.  Mathias chose spiders, Allie did butterflies, and Brielle chose ladybugs.  They did so great!

AWANA 2019

The kids completed their entire books this year and the girls completed the entire set of extra credit work!  We are so proud of all of God's word that they have "hidden in their hearts."

Mathias Basketball Take 2

We could not be more proud of this kid and his effort this basketball season.  He was very coachable and has improved so much.  We love to cheer him on as he towers over most of the other kids on the court.  He is a gentle giant.

He is now getting ready for the All-Star tournament on March 30th.

Spring 2019 Kid Updates

The kids are in the final push to finish this year's school.  We probably won't wrap up until late June though. We have had to make some adjustments recently due to tears of frustration.  Allie is now taking French online and loves it!  We also slowed her literature/reading down a bit b/c she was being slowly left behind with her current schedule.  Mathias is doing so well with school that I have already ordered his 5th grade books to have ready when we need them.  Brielle is chugging along even though she is very vocal about missing her kindergarten schedule of crafts and letters.
We are planning our garden out for this spring/summer season.  Allie has requested sunflowers with the seeds.  Mathias wants corn again.  Brielle wants strawberries.
The kids are working on their Arthropod presentations for science.  I will post pictures of their final results later.  They are so cute so far.
Mathias has another 2 weeks of practice before his All- Star tournament.  Then the girls will be playing on a co-ed team ages 7-8 together (Brielle is bumping up to be with Allie) starting in April and Mathias will have one more session in the 9-10 year old league.  AWANA and Worship quest are starting to wind down and that's such a good thing b/c my kids are getting a bit burnt out from it all as are Eric and I.

Upside Right Side

Forgive my absence yet again from this blog- we have been in survival mode around here.  We finally got my blood work back (10 entire pages of results) and it seems there are several underlying issues affecting my health.  Right now we have decided to treat the following ailments and go from there.
Prescription for a Candida infection probably due to my recent bout with antibiotics.
Homeopathic EBV virus remedy- this is a 2 month protocol.
Adrenal support in the form of over 10 supplements.
Extra sleep is I can manage and lower stress when possible.
Light exercise when I can manage to drag my exhausted body out to the garage.
Low sugar and gluten.  Trying to limit my caffeine consumption which has been proving hard since my mind and body are so exhausted.
Good news is that there are NO autoimmune factors!

The kids have been busy with AWANA on Sundays, piano lessons Monday afternoons, gymnastics on Tuesdays, Worship Quest on Wednesday nights and Mathias just wrapped his basketball season recently.  He has now been chosen for the all-star team and we couldn't be more proud of his hard work.  His tournament is March 30th.  I also have tons of basketball photos from this session's series of games.

Half way

We are half way through our 1st week back and it’s been a whirlwind of facts, checklists, narration, a few tears, good books, chores, bible ...
