Bay to Bae Finale

This weekend was a whirlwind of events to celebrate Nikki raising nearly $29,000.00 for Kids Inspiring Kids over the past several months.  She took 1st place overall for the event raising 34% of the total money raised between all 12 contestants.  She looked gorgeous and everyone was super proud of all of her hard work.  I am so glad I could go and support her.

Week 3 School

Settling in and getting into the groove of our weekly routine.  Mathias has become quite independent and often starts on his work before the rest of the kids do in order to finish as early as possible.  They have learned it is important to stay on task and finish b/c they will be doing school the entire day if they don't.  We have had a few days where the lessons stretch into the late afternoon.
Mondays we work until piano lessons.  We usually take a couple of things to work on while waiting.  Wednesdays are Worship Quest classes in the evenings (which Eric takes them to usually).  Fridays are gymnastics in the afternoon and we are usually finished for the day after that.
I love that this new curriculum really challenges both the children and myself into more discipline each day b/c the idea of falling behind or working all day long isn't appealing to any of us.

Eric’s belated birthday dinner.

Tonight was a belated birthday date for Eric.  We had a delicious dinner at The Noble Crust, frozen yogurt and a walk around the book store.  Thanks Nikki for watching the littles!

Birthday Slime

Her long awaited final birthday gift finally arrived this morning so naturally we put our worksheets on hold to try out some slime science.  She was so excited and the kids were able to follow the directions and make chalkboard slime and glow in the dark slime all on their own- they were cery proud of themselves and had a blast!

38 years for Eric

This guy is 38 and we made sure to celebrate him as much as work and school would allow us to today!  Love you Eric!!!

Week 2 MP

This week has already been much easier than last.  The schedule is consistent and the kids all know what to expect a little bit better.  There are still growing pains but the train is chugging along much more smoothly.

Testing Out of Week 1 MP

The kids rocked out our first week of the Fall semester and aced their tests!  So proud of all of their hard work this week.  It was challenging at times but we muddled through together and made it all in one piece with a little more knowledge under our belts.

2 month protocol

Please forgive my absence from the blog lately.  I haven't been feeling very well and have been completely worn out.  This week I started a new protocol which will last at least 2 months.  We will reassess at the end of 2 months and see what steps to take next.  Until then, I will try to keep up with the regular blog updates but worst case I am hoping for a 1x per week update if I'm really not feeling well.  Homeschooling and keeping house is exponentially harder when you are sick everyday.

My camera was dead this morning so I had to take new school pictures on my phone.  I think they turned out pretty cute though.  Love these big learners of mine!

Gymnastics Friday’s

The kids now take a homeschool gymnastics class every Friday at 2pm.  It's located right across the highway and an entire hour of work.  It has turned out to be such a great ending to our school week and makes them all nice and tired.

Allie’s 8th birthday

This very special girl is now 8 years old!  She requested a family day at Nikki's pool and dinner at BJs.  It was a very relaxing and wonderful time together!

We all got dressed up after our pool day and Allie wore her new dress and headband.

She got her favorite monkey bread pazookie.

She also got a new doll and gymnastics set for the dolls.  Her science kit is on its way!
Happy 8 years darling!  You are beautiful inside and out.  You love everyone so deeply and are such a gentle soul.  I love watching you turn into such a lovely young lady who loves the Lord and all those around her!

Half way

We are half way through our 1st week back and it’s been a whirlwind of facts, checklists, narration, a few tears, good books, chores, bible ...
