Back to training

Our vacation was wonderful but I am so happy to hug our little people and get back to training them up.

Sparkles save the day.

These 2 pictures were taken literally 2 minutes apart.  Brielle cried for a solid 20 minutes because Allie got dressed in our only Tinkerbell (we don't even watch Tinkerbell movies- ever) dress first.  Luckily, I was able to find this lovely and very sparkly number from when I was a figure skater.  Add a matching gold sparkle bow and we have smiles!

African Aprons for the win

Thanks again Grandma Tomi for the kid aprons.  They were perfect for our finger painting project!

2 for 1 school day

Since we devoted our day to errands yesterday, we had a bit of school to catch up on today before chores.  Luckily, the kids buckled down and we even got some science and finger painting in as well.

Errand run

I have learned that if there are errands that need to be fulfilled then it is just better to devote an entire day to it.  We take our time.  We enjoy ourselves as much as possible.  And I make sure we have plenty of SNACKS!
And COFFEE!
But seriously... shopping this way is so much more FUN.
And I even have time to pick up fall flowers (thank you Dollar Tree Store) for our beautiful door wreath Nana Jeannette made on her last visit!

Homeschool 2015

I am putting together a post on what our typical homeschool day looks like but here are a few snapshots from the past week.  Above the kids measured out an average sized scroll people use to write on instead of books (35 feet!!)  Luckily, we have a very long driveway for such projects.

MSU weekend

This weekend Eric and I headed down to the MSU vs LSU football game.  Being the CFO comes with opportunities and events that he needs to attend in order to build certain relationships and this time I was able to be his arm candy.  Our lovely babysitter, Ms. Madison stayed with the kids overnight and we were there and back within 24 hours.  When we got home Sunday we watched Swiss Family Robinsons with the kids and made cookies and popcorn for dinner.

Allie is 5!!!

We celebrated our special Allie's 5th birthday on Saturday so we could all be together (even though her actual bday was friday before)  Eric took the kids out for pancakes and orange juice for breakfast before I took her our for an entire day of girl-time and pampering.
She got her bright pink lipstick done at Sephora.

And she looked just lovely.  And so grown up.  When did that happen?! **sigh**

We spent quite a bit of time checking out all of the fun girly things and bright colors to try.
Then we went to get our toes painted after picking up some hot tea at Teavana.
Presents were in abundance this year.
And they mostly included dolls of some sort.
 And accessories.
But her Aura doll was the biggest hit.  She even has her ears pierced like Allie!
A salon chair was put to use immediately...
We had to hide in the bedroom while Mathias and Daddy decorated for the evening tea party... And her excitement was priceless when she saw the magical land they created.
it was a fairy tale fit for our princess...
We had a lovely white chocolate raspberry cake.
 And beautiful flowers...
And of course, hot tea in our lovely tea cups from Grandma Doris.  (They get a LOT of use grandma- thanks!)

The grande finale was a Frozen pinata Daddy filled with tons of candy for the kids.
Mathias finally had something not so "girly" to participate in.

Half way

We are half way through our 1st week back and it’s been a whirlwind of facts, checklists, narration, a few tears, good books, chores, bible ...
