Crossfit updates

The kids and I have been staying busy in the evenings with crossfit to keep from missing Eric too much while he is away an  extra week in MN.

Stitches

While we were away at Point Clear we received an ER phone call that Brielle had fallen and split her chin open and was getting 5 stitches. She fell out of Nana's bounce house.

When I got home we had to go into Dr Hutton and get them taken out which took an entire hour because she kept freaking out and crying.  But we got them out- eventually and then I took her for some treats to celebrate how brave she was.

Home to Nashville

Flying home to Nashville from Point clear and it was the most beautiful view I have ever seen.  I'm already missing Nashville so bad it hurts.

Point clear 2017

We had our last annual Point Clear trip for the gulf states market.

We had a beautiful room facing the ocean.

I was able to dress up for our dinner dates.

They even had paleo breakfast options for room service!

We love this place and hope to come back on our own as a family someday.

We bought a house

Here are a few shots from online.  The house was empty when we looked at it.  Its in a 24hr guard-gated community complete with a private screened pavilion, park and tennis courts.  Our home sits on 1/2 acre and it's on a cul-da-sac.  Most of the yard it in the back and is fenced.  We have a guest room for visitors and a salt-water pool.  The kitchen needs a lot of work and we'd like to get a hot tub but it was at the lower end of our price range with the lowest taxes and no CDD fees (which are everywhere and usually pretty high). It's also 1 level living and has beautiful wood floors and a 2 way fire place.  It will be so nice to have a little elbow room again.  It's going through inspections right now and we have a close date set for Sept 29th.  So we will be moving down there just before to do our final walk through and sign all of the papers.

Florida house hunting

Off we go for a weekend of house hunting.  Fingers crossed we find a good one.

Another fun day of history followed by delicious ice cream treat.

Belle Meade Mansion

Belle Meade plantation has stolen my heart!  I became acquainted with this particular mansion through reading a wonderful series based on the civil war history here.  Then, walking the grounds and following the tour inside (where photos were not allowed- much to my dismay) sealed the deal.

For a nominal fee the kids were provided a backpack full of books, art supplies and keys to find hidden treasure boxes around the property.  Each box contained a different task and insight to the history.  They even made a slave's rag doll at one and played with old fashioned toys in another.  They loved it!

There was also a book signing of the above mentioned book series.  Tamera Alexander. (<<< click her name to go to her site) I highly recommend her books.  They are clean Christian reads with beautiful romance and captivating history. Meeting her was an absolute treat and she joyfully signed all 6 of my books.

It was a perfect day, with perfect weather and the kids were super stars!

I get a lot of sweet little notes at the end of the kid's papers I am grading.  I love it!
