Hot coffee

Between homeschool lessons in the mornings, I seriously have to warm my coffee cup up at least 4-6 times before I can finish drinking it.  So this morning I woke up to a shiny new Yeti mug that will keep my liquid goodness hot until I finish it.  Thanks babe!  Such a blessing.  Mathias was excited too as he is usually the one retrieving my mug out of the microwave said 6 times.

2016 Memorial Day Weekend

We had a lovely weekend visiting with the Johnsons.  We showed them our new land, celebrated birthdays and played card games while sipping tea.

Frozen meal prep

The other day I spent hours in the kitchen prepping frozen meals to keep on hand for busy days.  I managed to make over 30 bean and cheese burritos for the kids to warm up in the microwave.  I mixed a huge bowl of peanut butter and jelly for frozen sandwiches as well.  And then I finished off egg and cheese breakfast sandwiches for a quick breakfast.  In addition there are over 10 dinners ready to dump in the crock pot for Sundays or extra busy week days.  Yay!

Mathias turns 8!

Several of his friends met us at the park for a wonderful morning of playing, cake and pizza.

Double birthday breakfast

We always try to do birthday breakfast up big here in the Johnson home.  It's usually a fancy meal complete with our finest china and candle light.
And this year we waited to open family gifts for Brielle and Mathias together
After we all scooted off to the late service at church.  It was a lovely Sunday.

Mowed

Our land get more beautiful every time we visit.  Yesterday the guys mowed it all down and this is what it looks like!

Last 7yr old hug

We tucked this sweet boy in for the last time as a 7 year old tonight. **sigh. Although I was in labor for 41 hours with the kid (and he was 10lbs!!) he has been worth it and then some. He melts our hearts with his enthusiasm for life and others. Always helpful and encouraging. He loves to learn and build and read. He's super tall and long and grows out of clothes faster than all of the kiddos. He's funny and quirky and always has something to say. He made me a mom first and I thank God every day for such a sweet young man entrusted to our care. Thanks for always keeping me on my toes Mathias Harvey. Happy birthday (tomorrow) buddy!

Brielle gets earings

She was so excited to get her big girl earings just like mama and Allie.

However, once they got the first one she was so sad b/c it hurt way more than what she was expecting.
Poor baby, she felt so betrayed.
But they look lovely and they don't bother her at all anymore.
Click here for a video of her getting them done.

Ohio trip

We had a lovely trip to Ohio, minus me getting super sick and the kids waking every morning around 4:30am our time.
 Uncle Zach cut Mathias' hair.
We took Brielle to get her ears pierced and saw Frozen on ice.

Frozen on Ice

She's 4 and Nana took us all to see Disney on Ice's Frozen.
So after dinner and pink cake we all headed out for a wonderful night.

Half way

We are half way through our 1st week back and it’s been a whirlwind of facts, checklists, narration, a few tears, good books, chores, bible ...
