Naps

We have been having to split the girls up for nap time so they will actually sleep lately.  One stays in their room the other goes on our bed.  Thankfully, this is usually the result.

Math manipulatives

Unlike her brother, who does his math as his quiet work b/c he just gets it, Allie has been needing me to actually teach her math- which is new.  She does very well with hands-on manipulatives.

Dwell in Me

My view right now as I sip coffee.  We have piles of curriculum waiting to be read and sorted and bins of books and crayons teasing the kids in anticipation for our next year's programs.  I am feeling overwhelmed and a bit stressed out as we transition into a more classical model of homeschool but I also know that once we get going it will be a positive change for our family as a whole.  Motherhood, especially lately, has brought me to my knees and it continues to reveal His purpose.

Goodbye Nuk, Hello Carly!

Tonight we said good-bye to Brielle's nuk and traded it in for a sweet puppy (her choice)
Her pacifier was placed inside the puppy's paw so it isn't completely "gone"

Motherhood is Sanctifying

Being a mom to bigger kids is way more challenging in my opinion. They can and will hold you more accountable for everything. When they were still tiny I use to think I was a really good mother. Haha. Now I am learning to parent on my knees and it's only through the beautiful grace of God that we get through life. It's humbling. It's many times painful. But it's also sanctifying. God hasn't called us to be comfortable. He has called us to be holy. His word says that "All thing work together for the good of those who love him." Our good is His glory

Half way

We are half way through our 1st week back and it’s been a whirlwind of facts, checklists, narration, a few tears, good books, chores, bible ...
