We decided to jump right into our new school year today. The kids all cheered at the prospect of learning new and exciting things and I breathed in a deep relaxing breath of organized schedules back into play.
My fight coach's wife in MN took her own life last night and I could not be more devastated. She was a bright light to all who knew her and yet she battled mental illness behind closed doors. Please pray for Merrick as he walks through this impossible time.
With my body still in recovery I have added yoga to my morning routine. It's been a tremendous aid in recovery and relaxation as I ease back into crossfit a few times a week. Allie has joined me for the entirety of my routines. Brielle comes and goes and Mathias isn't interested- yet.
The girls had swimming lessons this week from Monday-Thursday and we decided to stay and play in the outside pool for a few hours and enjoy some picnic lunches.
I also managed to squeeze a few workouts in as well. I still have a lot of work to do- so much work!
We spotted 2 baby deer- still with spots- playing through our yard. After some time their sweet mama came up and we were able to watch them interact for quite a while. It completely made my night!
Started back to crossfit officially today. I am hoping to make it 3xs a week to start and then go from there. I am still in recovery from my mysterious illness and I am taking several supplements throughout the day to help my body absorb and break down protein and fats. It's been a humbling season for me and I know that I will continue to be humbled by the fact that everything is so much harder. All of my progress in the gym for the past year and longer is gone. I am back at square one. I get extremely sore from using all of the muscles that have disappeared during my sickness and my mobility is much more limited than what I am use to. But at least I'm moving and doing something even if it is extremely slow and scaled down.
It has been raining nearly everyday and it doesn't look like we get a break for a while longer. The kids have been trying in vain to play outside but they come in shivering within 10 minutes. We are ready for a break!
